Ram 3500 History
History
The one-ton Ram 3500 sits at the top of the Heavy Duty pickup range, also inherited from Dodge at the 2010 split. With the high-output 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel and a dually (dual-rear-wheel) option, the 3500 has repeatedly posted class-leading maximum towing and payload ratings, a headline figure Ram markets aggressively against Ford and GM.
Like the 2500 it offers the four-door Mega Cab and the same diesel/Hemi choices, and it forms the basis of the 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab commercial trucks used as upfit platforms for work bodies.
