Ram 2500 History

The Ram 2500 is the three-quarter-ton member of the Ram Heavy Duty line, carried over from the Dodge Ram 2500 when the brand split in 2010. Aimed at towing and hauling, it is best known for its optional 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel inline-six, a powertrain prized for torque and longevity, alongside a gas Hemi V8.

The 2500 and its larger 3500 sibling were redesigned alongside the light-duty trucks and continue to compete with the Ford Super Duty and Chevrolet/GMC HD pickups on towing and payload capacity. The roomy four-door 'Mega Cab' configuration is a signature heavy-duty Ram body style.
