Introduced in 1935 as the successor to the Piccolo 307, the Praga Lady was a mid-size saloon built across eight series and approximately 5,000 units. Early cars used a 1.45-litre engine producing 28 hp; after the first 150 cars, Praga fitted the larger 1.7-litre Super Piccolo engine (35 hp), raising top speed from 100 km/h to 110 km/h. The Lady was offered in a wide range of body styles including saloon, convertible, pick-up, and ambulance variants.
About 4,600 Ladies had been built when the factory was forced to halt civilian production in 1941 during the German occupation. After the war, Praga rebuilt and resumed a small production run — roughly 400 additional cars — manufactured for use by Czechoslovak government officials. The last Lady rolled out in 1947, ending 36 years of Praga passenger-car production. The company then turned entirely to trucks, buses, and later karts; no new Praga road car would appear for nearly seven decades.
