Praga Baby History

Introduced at the 1934 Berlin Motor Show — where it was immediately voted the most elegant small car on display — the Praga Baby was the company's answer to the Great Depression: an affordable, fashionably styled economy car sized and priced for ordinary families. Some 2,250 were sold in its debut year alone.

Available as a two-seat roadster, four-seat cabriolet, and four-seat two-door saloon (tudor), the Baby packed genuine style into a compact, low-cost package. Approximately 4,200 Babies were produced across its short 1934–1937 production run before the line was succeeded by other models in Praga's lineup.
