History
The Praga R1 prototype was completed in 2012, with full production beginning in March 2013. Built around a carbon-fibre and Kevlar monocoque weighing just 643 kg, the R1 is powered by a Renault F4R 832 turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder producing 330–390 hp, driving through a Hewland JFR six-speed sequential semi-automatic gearbox.
The car made its competitive debut in the Supercar Challenge's Superlights class at Slovakia Ring in 2013, where Stefan Rosina scored the inaugural class victory. It has since competed in the Britcar Endurance Championship, the Dutch GT & Prototype Challenge, and the Menzо 24 Hours of Zolder, earning class podiums and wins. The R1 has also been featured in the Assetto Corsa and Rennsport racing simulators, broadening its global profile beyond the track.
