PGO Cévennes History
History
Named for the Cévennes mountain range that borders PGO's home region of the Gard department in southern France, the Cévennes debuted in 2005 as an upmarket companion to the Speedster II. Where the Speedster II leaned hard into the stripped-out, cut-windscreen Speedster aesthetic, the Cévennes offered a taller windscreen, more interior refinement, and an optional removable hardtop (sold as the Cévennes C), expanding its usability through French winters.
Like the Speedster II, the Cévennes is built on a tubular steel space frame with a mid-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive. It received the same BMW 1.6 L turbocharged engine upgrade in 2012 — producing 184 hp and 240 Nm (with a 10-second over-boost to 260 Nm) — cementing the model's performance credentials without changing its classic proportions. The car appeared in the video game World Racing 2, one of the few mainstream exposures for this obscure marque.
The Cévennes remains in production alongside the Speedster II, giving PGO a small two-model open-car lineup differentiated by hood height and weather protection rather than dramatic mechanical changes.

A blacked-out special edition shown during the 2011 motor show season; production numbers were never officially disclosed and, given PGO's build-to-order volumes, quantities were very small.
