Otosan Anadol SV-1600 History

Launched alongside the STC-16 in 1973, the SV-1600 took the opposite commercial approach: where the sports car chased prestige, the estate pursued utility. Inspired in styling by the Reliant Scimitar GTE, it was constructed in fiberglass and claimed the distinction of being the world's first fiberglass-bodied five-door station wagon.

It featured a fold-flat rear seat arrangement that gave it genuine load-carrying versatility, and later production runs added aluminum wheels and two-tone paint options. Power came from Ford's 1.6-litre engine, consistent with the rest of the Anadol range. With 6,499 units built over a nine-year run it was the second-most-produced Anadol passenger model, outlasting the A2 by a year before the line was wound down.
