History

Positioned as a spiritual successor to the F1, the McLaren P1 was a limited-run hybrid hypercar built from October 2013 to December 2015, with 375 units produced. It paired a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with an electric motor for a combined 903 hp and an electronically limited 217-mph top speed.

Launched alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder, it became part of the era's so-called 'Holy Trinity' of hybrid hypercars. A track-only P1 GTR followed in 2015–2016 — 58 examples making around 986 hp, initially offered exclusively to existing P1 owners.
