History

Launched at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the McLaren 650S succeeded the 12C as the Super Series car, blending the 12C's carbon-tub architecture with P1-inspired front-end styling and an uprated 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 (the '650' denoting 650 PS / 641 hp). It was offered as a coupe and a retractable-hardtop Spider.

Its most extreme derivative was the 675LT ('Long Tail'), a lighter, more powerful (675 PS / 666 hp) track-biased version built 2015–2017 in coupe and Spider form, reviving McLaren's 'Longtail' name from the F1 GT racing era.
