History

Unveiled in 2015, the 570S launched McLaren's more accessible Sports Series, slotting below the Super Series cars while keeping the carbon-tub-and-twin-turbo-V8 formula. Its 3.8-litre V8 produced 570 PS (562 hp), and the line grew to span coupe, Spider and several derivatives.

The Sports Series spawned a family of related cars: the entry-level 540C (2015), the more touring-focused 570GT (2016), the hardcore 600LT 'Long Tail' (2018, plus a 2019 Spider), and the track-biased, road-legal 620R (2019) based on the 570S GT4 race car and limited to 350 units. The Sports Series was eventually succeeded by the hybrid Artura.
