Maxus MIFA 9 History
History
The Maxus MIFA 9 (Maximum, Intelligent, Friendly and Artistic) was introduced to the market at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2021. At 5.27 metres long with seven seats, it is positioned as a full-size luxury electric MPV — a segment SAIC claimed no other volume manufacturer had contested with a pure-electric dedicated model.
The MIFA 9 is powered by a 90 kWh high-voltage battery pack delivering a WLTP combined range of up to 440 kilometres. It went on sale in China in 2021 and was exhibited at the Hanover Commercial Vehicle Show in 2022 as Maxus expanded its European ambitions. UK and European right-hand-drive deliveries began in early 2023.
The model represents Maxus's clearest move into the premium passenger-car space, targeting the executive shuttle and high-end family MPV segments occupied by the Toyota Alphard and Mercedes V-Class.
