Maxus G10 History

The Maxus G10 debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2013 and went on sale in China in March 2014, becoming the brand's second production model after the V80 van. It was designed by Turin-based Torino Design and built at SAIC's plant in Wuxi.

Unusually for an MPV, the G10 uses a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout — a configuration chosen to maximise load capacity and durability for commercial operator use. It seats seven, nine, or ten passengers and is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

An all-electric version, the EG10, entered production in 2016, extending the model's appeal to urban fleet operators. A mid-cycle facelift followed in 2016 to modernise the exterior for export markets. The G10 has remained in continuous production into the mid-2020s, making it one of Maxus's most durable nameplates.
