Lifan X60 History

Previewed as the Lifan CUV concept at the 2010 Shanghai Auto Show and formally launched at the 2011 Beijing Auto Show, the X60 was Lifan's first crossover SUV — and a pivotal moment for the brand. It measured roughly 4,509 mm long on a front-drive platform powered by a 1.8-litre four-cylinder producing 133 hp.

Sales grew steadily: 35,722 units in 2012, 56,647 in 2013, and 60,235 in 2014, making the X60 the 18th best-selling SUV in China in 2012. International assembly expanded to Russia (Derways), Azerbaijan, Iran, Uruguay, and Myanmar, making it one of the most globally distributed Chinese budget SUVs of its generation.

A 2014 automatic variant and a 2016 CVT version broadened the powertrain range. The X60 remained in production through 2018, by which point Lifan had introduced the larger X70 and X80 to move the SUV lineup upmarket.
