Koenigsegg Jesko History

Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and named after Christian von Koenigsegg's father Jesko von Koenigsegg, the Jesko is Koenigsegg's current-generation twin-turbocharged flagship. Its 5.0-liter V8 produces 1,280 hp on standard gasoline and 1,600 hp on E85 ethanol. All 125 units were sold before production began; first customer deliveries occurred in mid-2023.

The Jesko features Koenigsegg's nine-speed 'Light Speed Transmission' (LST) — a multi-clutch unit designed to achieve near-instantaneous ratio changes without torque interruption. Two configurations exist: the Jesko (track-optimized with higher downforce) and the Jesko Absolut (low-drag, optimized for outright top speed). Koenigsegg claims a theoretical top speed of 330 mph (531 km/h) for the Absolut, making it the stated target for the production-car top-speed record.

In June 2026 a Jesko Absolut set new production-car quarter-mile and half-mile records at the Ängelholm airfield, reaching 190 mph through the quarter-mile in 8.54 seconds — a benchmark that underlines the model's position as the apex of the current Koenigsegg line.
