History
Unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, the CCX was Koenigsegg's first car powered by an engine designed and built entirely in-house — a twin-supercharged 4.7-liter V8 making 806 hp on 91-octane fuel. The name stands for Competition Coupe X (for the tenth anniversary of the company's first public prototype).
Unlike its predecessors, the CCX was engineered to meet US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, opening the American market to Koenigsegg for the first time. Approximately 29 CCX-family cars were built across the run, which included the CCXR flex-fuel variant and the two-unit CCXR Trevita with its unique diamond-dust carbon fiber body finish.
