JAC Motors Heyue (J5) History
History
Launched in 2009, the JAC Heyue (和悦, also known as the J5) was a compact sedan that slotted between the entry-level Tongyue and the larger Binyue in JAC's fledgling passenger car range. It was powered by 1.5-liter and 1.8-liter petrol engines and offered in sedan and an 'RS MPV' (wagon) variant, priced at launch from CN¥62,800 to CN¥75,800.
A facelift was revealed in March 2014 with restyled front and rear fascias and revised pricing from CN¥73,800 to CN¥98,800. The Heyue remained in production until around 2017, by which time JAC was transitioning its passenger car lineup toward newer platforms under the Jiayue and Sehol brands. An electric version, the iEVA50, was developed from the Heyue A20 platform and remained available into the 2020s.
