JAC Motors Binyue (J7) History

On January 17, 2008, the first JAC Binyue rolled off the production line in Hefei — marking JAC's historic entry into the sedan segment after four decades as a truck and bus maker. The Binyue (宾悦) was an ambitious large sedan powered by 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines, positioned as an executive car priced between 88,800 and 149,700 yuan.

The model attracted international attention when Chinese buyers began replacing its badges with Mercedes-Benz emblems — a commentary on its rear styling, which was widely noted to resemble the Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203. A facelift arrived in 2011, adding a 1.8-liter engine option and revised front fascia. Production ended around 2012; the Binyue was succeeded by the Refine A60.
