History

The HiPhi Y debuted at Auto Shanghai in April 2023 as the brand's most accessible model, placed below the flagship X in price and size. Market launch in Shanghai followed on July 18, 2023, with first customer deliveries from July 29, 2023.

Despite its 'more accessible' positioning within HiPhi's lineup, the Y still offered premium technology: a 17-inch OLED center display, a 22.9-inch heads-up display, programmable LED headlights capable of displaying animated pictograms, and distinctive falcon-wing (coach) rear doors that swung upward for second-row access.

Two powertrains were offered: a single rear-motor version producing 331 hp and a dual-motor AWD at 498 hp, with battery options of 76.6 kWh or 115 kWh and CLTC range claims of up to 810 km. At 4,938 mm long on a 2,950 mm wheelbase, it slotted neatly between a compact and full-size crossover. Production ran from July 2023 to February 2024.
