Hansa Treff-Aß History

When Hansa-Lloyd resumed automobile production after World War I, the Treff-Aß ('Ace of Clubs') was its only passenger car: a large four-cylinder tourer displacing roughly 4.1–4.5 litres and producing 60 PS (44 kW), honest but acknowledged by contemporaries as based on outdated pre-war engineering.

Sold alongside Hansa-Lloyd's substantial commercial-vehicle line, the Treff-Aß found a modest market among buyers who wanted a reliable, if unglamorous, German full-size car. Its production run through the early 1920s set the stage for the company's far more ambitious Trumpf-Aß luxury programme.
