Ginetta G32 History

The G32 was a departure for Ginetta: a mid-engined two-seater designed by Ivor Walklett using a transversely mounted Ford 1.6-litre engine producing around 110 hp, with much of its interior sourced from the Ford Fiesta parts bin to control costs. Measuring 3.76 m long and 1.65 m wide, it was a compact and nimble machine offered in both closed coupé and open convertible forms.

A total of 115 G32s were built between 1989 and 1992. The model coincided with a financially turbulent period for Ginetta — the Walkletts had sold the company in 1989 — and production ended as the new ownership group worked to stabilise the business. A 1.9-litre engine option was also available.
