Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8 History

Officially launched in China on 12 November 2024, the Bao 8 is Fang Cheng Bao's range-topping model and the largest application of the DMO platform. It uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with dual electric motors for 550 kW (738 hp) combined — the same acceleration (0–100 km/h in 4.8 seconds) as the smaller Bao 5 in a substantially larger body.

The Bao 8 is distinguished by its advanced technology stack: Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 intelligent driving system (supported by roof-mounted LiDAR) is standard on flagship trims, making it one of the first BYD-family vehicles to feature Huawei's urban Navigate on Autopilot (NOA). The interior deploys three screens — a 12.3-inch instrument panel, 17.3-inch central infotainment display, and a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen.

A 36.8 kWh Blade LFP battery provides 100 km of WLTC electric range and a combined range of 1,200 km. DiSus-P active air suspension yields a maximum ground clearance of 310 mm, enabling class-competitive off-road performance. Four variants were offered at launch — Luxury 7-seat, Luxury 6-seat, Flagship 7-seat, and Flagship 6-seat — priced from approximately USD 52,500 in China.
