History

The UNI-V was unveiled at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show as the third member of Changan's UNI series — and its first fastback body style, deviating from the SUV pattern of the UNI-T and UNI-K. Production began in 2021 and customer deliveries started in 2022, powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine making around 188 hp.

With its low roofline, raked rear glass, and UNI-series' aerospace-inspired design language applied to a sedan body, the UNI-V targeted performance-oriented buyers in the compact segment. A plug-in hybrid (PHEV/EREV) variant extended its appeal as Chinese buyers increasingly sought electrified options.
