History

The Eado was first shown as the C201 concept at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show and debuted in production form at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, with customer deliveries beginning March 27, 2012. Styled at Changan's Turin design center, it offered a 1.6-litre petrol engine and gave Changan a genuine compact-car contender, not just a budget runabout. A DT hatchback variant was added in 2013.

An electric Eado EV was unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, featuring a 120 hp motor distinguishable by a blue-painted grille. A second generation covering both sedan and DT body styles launched in 2018, with an electric variant following in 2019. The third generation arrived as the Changan Lamore in March 2024, keeping the nameplate current in the fast-moving Chinese NEV market.
