Changan Alsvin History
History
The Alsvin (also known as Yuexiang in China) was first previewed at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show and entered production on February 7, 2009, hitting Chinese showrooms on March 18, 2009. Designed by Luciano D'Ambrosio at Changan's Turin design center, it brought European styling sensibilities to an affordable entry-level package.
A premium variant called the Alsvin V5 was launched in 2014, positioned slightly above the standard model and sold alongside it. While the Alsvin's role in the domestic Chinese market has diminished as crossovers took over, the nameplate remains active in export markets including Pakistan and the Philippines into the mid-2020s.
