Brennabor Juwel 6 History

Introduced in 1929 as the successor to the earlier Typ A / Typ ASK series, the Juwel 6 was powered by a newly developed 2,460 cc six-cylinder side-valve engine producing 45 hp at 3,200 rpm. Drive went to the rear wheels through a single-plate dry clutch and a three-speed gearbox with a central floor-mounted lever — an arrangement that reflected the lessons learned from the later Typ PW. The chassis retained the proven U-profile pressed-steel construction with rigid axles and semi-elliptical leaf springs.

A larger 3.1-litre, 55 hp six-cylinder engine was available as an option on select variants. The Juwel 6 was offered in multiple body styles including closed sedans, open tourers, and cabriolets. Approximately 3,000 examples were produced across the model's 1929–1932 run, making it one of Brennabor's most substantial later-period offerings.

In 1931 Brennabor developed a front-wheel-drive prototype based on the Juwel 6 platform using patents from the Voran company, but financial pressures prevented it from reaching production. The Typ B Juwel 6 was finally succeeded by the short-lived Typ E and Typ F models in 1933 — the last year of Brennabor automobile production.
