Brennabor Brennaborette History

The Brennaborette was Brennabor's inaugural series-production automobile, launched in 1908 when the Brandenburg factory shifted from bicycles and motorcycles to four-wheeled — and, in this case, three-wheeled — personal transport. It used a proprietary Fafnir single-cylinder engine of approximately 452 cc driving the rear wheel via chain, and was offered in power outputs of 3.5 to 5.5 PS across the production run.

Positioned as a low-cost runabout, the Brennaborette represented the company's first step into the growing German automobile market. A twin-cylinder Fafnir-engined light car followed in 1909 as the range began to expand. Production of the original Brennaborette format continued until approximately 1912 as Brennabor developed more conventional four-wheeled models.
