Avatr Avatr 07 History
History
The Avatr 07 was unveiled at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 30, 2024 and officially launched on September 26, 2024, receiving 11,673 non-refundable pre-orders within 20 hours of the sales event. At 4,825 mm long (4,910 mm for the extended '07L' variant announced in 2026), the 07 occupies a slightly more compact footprint than the 11 while adding new powertrain technology absent from the first-generation models.
The 07's headline innovation is Avatr's proprietary Kunlun range-extender system, paired with CATL's new Freevoy battery — the first production implementation combining LFP and sodium-ion cell chemistry to improve range and performance at low temperatures. The EREV configuration achieves over 1,050 km of combined range on the Chinese CLTC test cycle. Pure-electric BEV variants use an 82.16 kWh CATL pack for 610–650 km of range. Both BEV and EREV are offered in rear-wheel-drive single-motor and all-wheel-drive dual-motor layouts.
Technology continues to centre on Huawei integration: the 07 ships with Huawei's autonomous-driving suite (27 sensors including a roof LiDAR), a 35.4-inch 4K display, HarmonyOS 4.0 infotainment, and a Meridian audio system. Starting price was RMB 219,900 (approximately US$30,000), positioning the 07 as the most accessible entry point in the Avatr lineup.
