Allard K3 History
History
The K3 was Allard's most potent production road car, developed specifically to compete against emerging American sports cars. Most of the 62 K3s built between 1952 and 1955 were fitted with the 331-cubic-inch Chrysler Hemi V8 with dual carburettors — a combination that produced serious straight-line performance for the era.
Fifty-seven of the 62 K3s were exported to the United States, where Allard hoped to capitalise on the enthusiasm for high-performance sports cars. The K3 is now among the most sought-after Allards, with examples appearing at major concours events and achieving substantial auction prices.
