Allard J2X History

The J2X was Allard's 1952 revision of the J2, its main change being a longer nose that moved the engine forward, creating more cockpit space for the driver without significantly altering the basic ladder-frame architecture. The suspension was also revised.

Eighty-three J2Xs were built between 1952 and 1954. Although the J2X remained quick by contemporary standards, the pace of development in sports-car racing was accelerating and the J2X was never quite as dominant as the J2 it replaced. A handful of J2X Le Mans-specification cars were built for factory-supported endurance racing.
