Adler Standard 8 History

Launched in 1928 as the prestige companion to the Standard 6, the Standard 8 used a 3,887 cc straight-eight engine producing 70–80 PS, giving the big Adler a top speed of around 100–105 km/h — competitive with expensive rivals of the era.

The global economic depression of the early 1930s hit the market for large luxury cars hard, and the Standard 8 was discontinued after 1933. It remains one of the rarest Adler models and an indicator of how ambitious the Frankfurt firm's range once was.
