History

Revealed via Chinese patent-office images in September 2020 and officially presented in March 2021, the Wuling Zhengtu (meaning 'long journey' or 'expedition') was SGMW's first foray into the passenger pickup segment. Its four-door cab, two-metre removable cargo bed, and a 1.5-litre 99-hp engine sat on a 3,160-mm wheelbase at a starting price of around USD $9,000.

The Zhengtu sold more than 20,000 units within three months of launch, validating demand for entry-level pickups in China. However, sales declined steadily as competition intensified and SGMW never planned export variants. Production ended in 2025.
