History

Launched in China in 2023, the Wuling Binguo (marketed internationally as the Bingo or BinguoEV) filled the gap between the micro-scale Hongguang Mini EV and a conventional subcompact. Its 3,950 mm length, 5-door hatchback body, and oval-lamp retro styling set it apart visually from Chinese EVs, while a 17.3–37.9 kWh LFP battery pack offered 203–410 km of range.

Two motor options — 30 kW (40 hp) and 50 kW (67 hp) — keep purchase prices accessible. SGMW quickly took the Binguo global: Indonesia received it in November 2023, Thailand in July 2024, and Malaysia in December 2025, with Brazilian local production planned for 2026. Annual global production reached approximately 136,000 units in 2025.
