History

Since the early 2010s (sources do not pin an exact first-sale year), Bahman Group has worked with China's Zhongxing (ZX Auto) to produce the Grand Tiger pickup under the Capra nameplate in Iran. By July 2015 the Capra ranked fourth in Iranian pickup-truck production with 930 units that month alone, confirming it as a serious volume vehicle.

A four-door (double-cabin) version significantly broadened the Capra's appeal by combining commercial load capacity with passenger utility — a combination well-suited to Iranian terrain and commercial use. An updated Capra 2 was reported in 2017 with a refreshed feature set.

The Capra is powered by a Mitsubishi-sourced engine and has been sold under the Grand Tiger name in markets as far afield as New Zealand, Libya, and Malaysia, giving Bahman a globally recognised mechanical base. As of the mid-2020s, the Capra 2 remains in Bahman's active lineup.
