Westfield FW400 History

The FW400 was Westfield's flagship model at the turn of the millennium, featuring a full carbon-fibre monocoque chassis rather than the traditional tubular-steel spaceframe used by the rest of the range. Built in very limited numbers between approximately 1999 and 2002, it represented the highest engineering ambition the company had yet attempted.

With carbonfibre construction saving significant weight over the steel-chassis cars, the FW400 delivered exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio and was positioned as a direct track-day competitor to the most focused factory machines of the era. Its short production run and high cost placed it firmly in collector territory.
