Wallys Car Iris History

Wallyscar launched the Iris in March 2017 as a follow-up to the Izis, targeting Tunisian buyers who wanted a slightly more conventional SUV silhouette while retaining the brand's trademark fiberglass construction and Peugeot-sourced drivetrain. The Iris measures 3.90 metres in length, making it shorter than a Citroën C3, and seats four.

Power came from a 1.2-litre three-cylinder PSA petrol engine producing 60 kW (82 PS), with a 0–100 km/h time of 13.2 seconds and a top speed of 158 km/h — modest numbers appropriate to the car's urban and semi-off-road mission. The technical base drew on Citroën C3 components, giving the Iris a known supply chain for parts and service.

Priced at 35,900 Tunisian dinars (approximately €12,600 at launch), the Iris was positioned as an affordable alternative to European-imported compact SUVs, whose prices in Tunisia were inflated by high import duties. Unlike the Izis, the Iris was initially sold only in the Tunisian domestic market. Options included LED headlamps, fog lamps, a reversing camera, rear parking radar, and a central touchscreen.
