TVR Griffith (2017) History

After TVR was bought in 2013 by a syndicate of British businessmen led by Les Edgar, the marque returned with a new Griffith, a prototype of which was revealed in 2017. The car pairs a Gordon Murray-designed iStream carbon-and-composite structure with a Cosworth-developed 5.0-litre Ford 'Coyote' V8, a front-mid-engine layout and a manual gearbox — a modern interpretation of the classic light, V8, rear-drive TVR formula.

Production was repeatedly delayed by funding difficulties and pandemic disruption — a planned factory at Ebbw Vale in South Wales fell through — leaving the revived Griffith long-promised rather than delivered. As of the mid-2020s no customer cars had been built, yet the name and project remained central to TVR's comeback plans under successive owners, with deposits still being taken (yearEnd left null as an ongoing project).
