Tofaş Linea History

The Fiat Linea was co-developed by Tofaş and Fiat do Brasil and launched off the Bursa assembly line on 26 March 2007, entering both Turkish and export markets. Unlike the Albea it replaced, the Linea was designed from the ground up with Turkish and emerging-market buyer preferences in mind — a modern three-box sedan with a 2.55-metre wheelbase offering genuine rear-seat room.

The Linea became Turkey's best-selling passenger car in 2015, with 35,041 units sold, a commercial peak that coincided almost exactly with the end of its production run. Turkish Linea production concluded in 2016, when the facility was retooled for the new Fiat Tipo (Egea) that would supersede it in both Turkey and export markets.
