Tofaş Albea History

The Fiat Albea entered production at the Tofaş Bursa plant in 2002, succeeding the Tipo and Uno as Tofaş's primary compact sedan offering. A derivative of the Fiat Palio platform, the Albea was designed for markets where traditional three-box sedans remained preferred over hatchbacks — Turkey, Eastern Europe, and parts of Latin America and Asia. Bursa was the primary Albea production hub, and the model was widely exported.

Production of the Albea at Bursa continued until 2012, a ten-year run that made it one of the longest-lived post-Bird-Series Tofaş models. Its replacement by the Fiat Linea and the next-generation Fiat Tipo (Egea) continued Tofaş's pattern of producing export-oriented sedans at the Bursa plant.
