History
Revealed at the Chengdu Auto Show on 29 August 2021, the Tank 500 officially launched in China on 18 March 2022 as Tank's full-size three-row flagship. It rides on a body-on-frame chassis and seats seven across three rows, targeting the premium off-road segment occupied by the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
A wide powertrain menu distinguishes the Tank 500: a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol (349 hp), a 2.0-litre turbocharged hybrid (346 hp combined), a 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid Hi4-T (402 hp), and a 2.4-litre turbodiesel (181 hp). Off-road hardware includes 8.8 inches of ground clearance, 31.5 inches of wading depth, and multi-terrain drive modes.
The Tank 500 expanded to international markets including Australia, Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa, and Brunei, making it Tank's most globally distributed model.
