Standard Pennant History

Launched in October 1957, the Standard Pennant was a brightened, more stylish version of the Ten, distinguished by prominent tail fins, hooded headlamps, a revised grille and two-tone paint. Its 948 cc Standard SC engine was raised to about 37 bhp.

Options included an overdrive gearbox, a radio, a heater, leather upholstery and the 'Standrive' clutchless two-pedal control. The Pennant was a short-lived run, ending in 1959 as the small-Standard line was wound down ahead of the Triumph Herald, which replaced both the Pennant and the Ten in 1961.
