The Standard Little Nine was the smallest car in Standard's early-1930s range, introduced in 1930 as the company's economy offering in the depressed market of the era. It used a small side-valve four-cylinder engine of 1,005 cc, enlarged to 1,052 cc from 1934 by extending the bore.
Though relatively expensive for its size, it found favour with comfortably-off buyers rather than the very bottom of the market. Production ended in 1936 when it was replaced by the more streamlined Flying Nine, part of Standard's new aerodynamic 'Flying' range.
