The Singer Roadster was introduced in 1939 as an inexpensive open four-seat tourer, drawing on the company's pre-war sporting nines. Production resumed after the Second World War and the model became one of Singer's mainstays into the early 1950s.
It ran through a succession of series (4A, 4AB, 4AC and 4AD) with engines growing from 1,074 cc to 1,497 cc. The traditional drophead styling kept Singer's affordable-sports image alive, but by the mid-1950s it was dated, and the Roadster ended around 1955 as the cash-strapped firm slid toward the Rootes takeover.
