Singer Junior History

Introduced for 1926, the Singer Junior was a small, inexpensive light car powered by an advanced 848 cc overhead-camshaft four-cylinder engine — sophisticated engineering for a budget car of the period. It was offered from around £148 as a four-seat tourer.

The Junior sold strongly and, alongside the Ten, helped lift Singer to third place among British car manufacturers in the late 1920s, behind only Austin and Morris. Its overhead-cam engine and chassis formed the basis of the sporting Nine that succeeded it.
