Singer Chamois History

Launched in October 1964, the Singer Chamois was a luxury-trimmed version of the rear-engined Hillman Imp, distinguished by a decorative false grille, twin headlamps (from October 1969 on some versions), and a more comfortable interior aimed at buyers wanting an Imp with more prestige.

It was offered as a small saloon and, later, a fastback coupe with a steeply raked fixed rear window. When the Singer marque was discontinued by Chrysler UK in 1970, the Chamois was among the very last Singer-badged cars built, closing out a marque that had begun making cars in 1905.
