History

The SEAT Tarraco was presented on 18 September 2018 and debuted publicly at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Named by public vote, it was SEAT's largest and most expensive model — a D-segment SUV with an optional third row, sharing its MQB platform and Wolfsburg production line with the Volkswagen Tiguan and Škoda Kodiaq.

In July 2024 SEAT confirmed the Tarraco had ended production in the second quarter of 2024, without a second generation planned. This reflected SEAT's pivot toward the Cupra brand for higher-margin models and a focus on smaller, higher-volume segments.
