SEAT 1400 History

The SEAT 1400 was the first car to roll off SEAT's Barcelona Zona Franca production lines, in November 1953, built under license from Fiat. It was a conventional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive saloon based on the Fiat 1400 and established SEAT as Spain's pioneer of volume automobile production.

Production ran until 1958, by which point the smaller and more affordable SEAT 600 had arrived and quickly became the main focus of the company's output.
