SEAT Altea History
History
Launched in 2004 on the same PQ35 platform as the second-generation León, the SEAT Altea was a compact MPV with a raised roofline offering genuinely tall adult headroom without the bulk of a full-size people carrier. Its 2007 Altea XL long-wheelbase variant added greater boot space.
The Altea also served as the base for SEAT's experimental Altea Freetrack crossover (2007) and the first SEAT electric prototype (Altea Freetrack Electric). Production ended in 2014 as the compact MPV segment contracted sharply in Europe.
