History

Launched in December 2017, the Scania L-series was designed specifically for city logistics and last-mile distribution. Its defining feature is a very low cab entry step, paired with a City Safe Window in the door that gives the driver a clear view of cyclists and pedestrians at kerbside — a safety innovation shaped by urban accident data.

The L-series competes directly with Volvo's FE and Mercedes-Benz Econic in municipal and urban distribution roles. It is offered with Euro 6 diesel, gas, hybrid, and battery-electric drivetrains, reflecting the accelerating electrification of urban logistics fleets across European cities.
