Scania G-Series History

Announced on 5 September 2007, the Scania G-series filled a deliberate gap between the compact P-series cab and the tall R-series Highline cab. Its 'medium forward control' cab is derived from the R-series shell but with a lower roofline, making it well suited to national haulage, construction, and any application that needs more cab space than the P-series without the full long-haul luxury of the R.

Engines span Scania's full inline-five and inline-six range up to 500 hp, covering Euro 5 and Euro 6 emission standards. The G-series grew rapidly in share through the 2010s as operators found it a practical compromise, and it was refreshed with the 2016 New Generation cab architecture.
