Scania Citywide History

Introduced in 2011 as the successor to the Scania OmniCity and OmniLink, the Citywide was Scania's first integrally-constructed bus — meaning Scania built both chassis and body, rather than supplying bare chassis for external coachbuilders. It was assembled at Scania's plant in Słupsk, Poland and offered in two configurations: the Citywide LF (low floor, on the N-series chassis) and Citywide LE (low entry, on the K-series chassis).

A battery-electric Citywide BEV was added following the second-generation reveal in October 2019, reflecting the shift to zero-emission urban transit across European cities. Scania announced in 2024 that it would cease production of the Citywide, the Interlink, and its low-floor coach chassis as part of a restructuring of the bus division, marking the end of an era for Scania-branded integral buses.
